Hey, It's really great to see you!
The Legend Scholarship was established in 1997 at what is now known as Burman University but at the time was called Canadian University College. The very first recipient was James Jeffery who now practices dentistry in Edmonton Alberta. The goal of the scholarship was to start providing financial assistance to students enrolled in the science program by very recent graduates. We wanted to start giving back as soon as possible and the amount was a priority as we believed that starting small was better than not starting at all. We all value the team dynamic and believed we could do more together than separately. We wanted to encourage and support other students in their educational pursuits as quickly as we could hence the initiation of the scholarship so quickly after we graduated. We were, and we still are, dedicated to helping students achieve their scholastic dreams. The scholarship is awarded based on a number of different factors that all come together to give a well rounded student that we hope is equipped with the skills necessary for success. We base the selection on academic excellence and the ability to demonstrate a passion for their chosen field of study but we also value well-rounded applicants who's involvement in numerous, wide-ranging activities is also on display. Our goal is to help deserving students reach their maximum potential and make a positive impact in their world.
