"Med school is indeed going by quickly. I started clinical rotations in December, 2024 and am currently halfway through a psychiatry rotation.

I think every aspect of medical school has had its ups and downs for sure. I confirmed I quite enjoy the operating room, and my favorite part has definitely been being able to assist in surgeries, from triple bypass surgeries, to gallbladder removals, and even a below-knee amputation.

As for what I want to specialize in, I'm currently leaning heavily towards orthopedic surgery."

"Ireland was absolutely beautiful. I loved the country and met some very kind and friendly people there. By far the best adventure was going to Doolin Caves where we saw Europe's Largest Stalactite after walking through a series of caves several hundred feet underground.

Iceland which was also an absolutely stunning country. One of the highlights there was getting to snorkel in between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It was freezing cold as the water was only about 1°C which required you to wear a wet suit. I couldn't feel my fingers or toes after but it was 100% worth the incredible experience.

Grenada is definitely a hidden gem in the Caribbean. The beaches are pristine and never crowded. I would highly recommend it if you're ever looking for a getaway to somewhere not crowded by tourists and a calm beach to relax and unwind on. I must say it has definitely taken some getting used to living here long term. I definitely miss the seasons as I was only able to enjoy 3 weeks of the cold over Christmas until I was back here in the hot tropical sun! I do however have nothing but good things to say about St. George's University. Its medical curriculum is excellent and they give you access to all kinds of resources to help you succeed."

We are very proud of Ashley ending her first term on the School's Dean's List. This has opened lots of doors for her, allowing to be part of two honors societies, one in which she tutors Term 1 students through. She is also starting research with a mentor as an added perk of being on the Deans List.

"I am glad to say that I have been loving getting the opportunity to study medicine and look forward to having a rewarding career in this field."
